The V-litters Al-Dahná's Vitae Victoria - Lifes Victory
Al-Dahná's Vitae Victoria
Kennel Al-Dahná's Vitae Victoria, or Victoria for short, was born as pup number 9, at 2 o'clock in the morning of May 6th 2008. She is the only surving pup from a litter of 12. The rest of her litter mates probably died as a result of poisoning from milk they received from the mum. Victoria was also very ill, and was given very little chance of survival by the vet. She stubborn as an ass, which is probably on of the reasons why she survived. Victoria will be kept by Torill Knudsen, owned by Torill & Knudsen, Liz Millward and Alf H. Refsum and grow up with her mum Sasha, and the rest of the flock at Kennel Al-Dahná.
Victoria, if she survives, will surely the most spoilt dog in the flock at Kennel Al-Dahná. She might become a kind of mascot to Afghan lovers in Norway, but surely for Kennel Al-Dahná. The Afghan people has, even though the some personal differences, been very supportive while the tragedy happened to us. This support carried us through those dark times.
Parents
The parents of Victoria are Harvey (Alouann Fame N Fortune) and Sasha (Al-Dahná's Rakhsha) that are two unbelievably similar typed afghan hounds from very different lines. These lines contain, on their own, a lot of very good hounds. Just take a look at the pedigree below (on this page), or explore them on the Afghan Hound Pedigree Database (AHPD), Alouann Fame N Fortune (Harvey) pedigree and Al-Dahná's Rakhsha (Sasha) pedigree.

Pictures of Victoria
Victoria lives for the time being with Barbro that has closely guarded her 24 hours a day. This is because Victoria is not allowed near her mother Sasha before all infections are gone. Victoria weighed in at 330g when she was born, and golden with back mask, black ears and a black tail. She has put on weight, and eats well. She is very greedy and the food intake has to be limited.

Victoria has a long good neck, a faboulous head, and powerful legs. She has already got nice shape to her snout. Victoria was not best pup from the litter, and of course one will always speculate about what was lost, but she is the only we have left. She has already got a trainer and handler signed up, so that part of her life is wel taken care of.

It is comforting to have a friend to snuggle up to, even if he doesn't say or do much. The cuddly lion was given to her as a substitute for her missing siblings. It helps a little bit against the loneliness that came when her siblings disappeared.

The video below was taken shortly before the pups and Sasha became visibly ill. Victoria is somewhere in the crowd of pups. We can not play this video with the sound turned on while Sasha is in the room because she desperately starts looking for her pups.
