On June 12th 2008 Sasha passed away as a result of complications after the whelping

On March 6th of 2008 started what we thought was to become an exciting and wonderful time, namely the insemination of Sasha. Sasha and Harvey (Alouann Fame N Fortune) were like identical copies of each other, and the expectations for this litter was enormously large. Sasha was in great form throughout the whelp. She was sweet and happy, but grew gradually monstrous (in size which can be seen on images in the news archive). Despite this, she still managed to jump up onto the dining table, which she thought of as her sleeping place. There was certainly not bad with 12 puppies to carry.

On May 6th the whelping started, entirely without problems, an incredibly easy whelp. Then after a couple of days the nightmare started, which can be read on the page on "a trip to hell".

11 puppies, of 12, died. As if that was not enough, Sasha was also very sick, and operated 2 times. During one of the operations she had a reflux of acid that burned oesophagus (gullet) for a length of about 10cm. This injury was not possible to heal. There were times in which we believed and hoped it would go well, but the damage was far too large. She fought something quite incredible, but in the end, there were nothing left. We got her examined afterwards and had the extent of the damage confirmed. Sasha died at home with her loved ones around her. She waited until we were there for her, and with a small sigh, she went away.

One single puppy survived, and she was, naturally enough, given the name Vitae Victoria - Life Victory. Sasha and Victoria met only once, since Victoria was held away from Sasha because of fear of infection. The picture below is from this meeting and says enough about both of them. Victoria appears to be very similar to Sasha in many ways, not just the appearance, but also how she is and behaves. That helps a little to fill the void that Sasha left. Sasha was a very, very special dog.

Hi everybody!!

My name is Sasha or in formal "Al-Dahná's Rakhsha", and I'm a happy, boisterous, and very inventive bitch. Completely Afghan! I do exactly like I please, and when I please. My sister Jasmin lives together with me, (and a few other afghans as well, including my mum Vilde). Jasmin is everything to me, without her I don't know what to do! We often sleep so close together that we could easily be mistaken for a single dog with two heads; a black head and a golden with black mask. Very close indeed.

My favourite activity is to stay on top of things. Dining tables, windowsills and the top of dog cages are fairly useful places to stay. From there I have a full control of everything that happens, and that is very smart. I know when humans come to visit and when food is getting prepared. But my human-mum is not too happy about this since flower pots and other stuff goes flying when I jump up. I am also quite fond of the sofa and the cuddles humans usually give while sitting there.

I have always wanted my own puppies, you know the cute little furry thingies, but I didn't find any suitable mate until now. In England there is this super-stylish boy. Whoa, was I sold, (as was my two-legged companions, as if they matter). And, he, or Harvey as he is usually called, and his family also agreed this was a perfect match. I mean, just look at us. Perfect. Now it is only the matter of whelping and raising a bunch of puppies.

I started in the showring at the age of 9 months and got a cert and became BIR for my efforts. Not bad if you ask me. Later on I have managed to get 2 more certs, another BIR, and a 2nd best bitch. After I am finished with my puppies I hope I can return to the ring, just like my sister Requitha.

My sister Jasmin (Al-Dahná's Rapakoshi Rashmin)

Jasmin lives together with me here at Feenveien, at human-mum Torills place, and she is my best friend. A picture of Jasmin will be put here when the humans manage to find one to use.

My sister Mona (Al-Dahná's Raimona)

Mona lives in Sweden with Gunilla at Kennel Kingsleah, and is the one from the R-litter who has had the best showring career. She only showed 5 times, but on those 5 shows she managed to win 5 certs and became Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and Nordic Champion!! She even managed to become Swedish Champion in a week!! "Way to go girl!". I have heard rumours that her human-mum is planning a litter for her, but I will get mine first!!!

My sister Requitha (Al-Dahná's Requitha the Sunshineflower)

Requitha was the first from our litter to get litter of her own. She lives in Sandefjord, with Anita and her family, and her own son Sesto (Al-Dahná's Up To Date). After she had had the litter she got back into the showring with a vengance. She won the cert both days at the Hurdal show in 2007, and therby got title.

My brother Tiger (Al-Dahná's Royal Star)

Tiger lives in Sweden with his human mum Ewa and family. He is a completely normal stay-at-home dog, highly loved by his family.

My brother Raskoh (Al-Dahná's Raskoh Ramsey)

Raskoh lives together with Shali (Al-Dahná's Shalimar) and Tove Nymark Andersen. He is the filmstar of the litter. His human mum shoots a lot of really beautiful pictures of him, all the time. You can see some of them on the page about Raskoh & Shalimar. Below are two pictures human-mum really liked. You mustn't believe that it is only Raskoh that can handle those small two-legged beasts, no we can all do that, and human-mum says that is really important.

My sister Ronja (Al-Dahná's Ronja Røverdatter)

I am sorry, but we do not have any pictures of Ronja yet. My human mother is on the case, so we might get some pictures here yet.

My parents

I think my parents were quite beautiful, but I guess everybody does that. I live with my human mum, and until recently with real mum. My real mum was quite bossy, it was like she realised that I was to be the new boss in the household after her. It was a bit of a drag while she was teaching me the ropes. My dad was called Kingsleah Blue Star (Svinto), he was very famous, and won a lot of shows. I think he was a very special affie, don't you agree?

My Grandparents

My grandfather oOn my daddys side was INT N FIN CH Gold' N Copper Blue Print (Gizmo) and my grandmother was S CH Kingsleah Footprints Of Smokey (Princess).

My grandfather on mummys side was N CH Perlima's Cæsar and my grandmother was Al-Dahná's Ophelia (Ophelia).
